HistoryAble Carpet Care was established in 1980 by Phil Venten. Mr. Venten pioneered carpet cleaning in Melbourne, especially when he brought the first truck-mounted machine in Australia in 1978. He lead the way in forward thinking of advanced carpet cleaning by forming the Carpet and Upholstery Cleaning Association (C.U.C.A). This Group made the first inroads into the science of carpet and upholstery carpet cleaning. Able Carpet Care was purchased by Barry Paydon on behalf of the Paydon family in 1986, originally Phil trained Greg (son), then Michael (other son)in 1988 trained by Greg. Twelve long years later the company has a Factory/Office in South Oakleigh, Michael Paydon currently being Managing Director and senior Technician, while Greg Paydon is Marketing/Sales and Operations Manager. Michael Paydon was A.C.C.I accredited in 1994 and has established a strong relationship with The Australian Carpet Cleaning Institute ever since. All full-time employees are required to complete a carpet-cleaning course with this institute. Able Carpet Care cleans in accordance to the standards specified in AS/NZS 3733:1995 thus committed itself to the companies powerful message on quality and stipulates that in it's objectives Statement, highlighting it's success over 45 years. The company has established a strong relationship now with The Australian Carpet Cleaning Institute (A.C.C.I), with Able Carpet Care has developed many markets, especially in carpets specializing in wool carpets, having just been involved in the 2000 Commonwealth Bank Home Show at the exhibition centre, on behalf of the Wools of New Zealand Group.
